Jessica and I recently went out on a scouting trip to The Pinnacle Appalachian Trail Lookout in Bethel, PA yesterday.
It was a lovely day and we managed to not only grab a few scenic photos, but we managed to locate a few mushrooms past their lifespan but still clinging to the source of life they once drew nourishment.
There was a goal in mind to see where I would be departing from next month in April for a 500 Mile walk along the Appalachian Trail all the way to Maine to spread the word on Shroomate and what we’re trying to accomplish and promote. Planned launch date is April 11th and the destination has yet to be established. With just the basic items needed for the trip, I will be walking this trip alone and with anyone else who wants to share some time with me. I have laid out 10 Goals for me to accomplish while on the Trail that help me engage with others and share the future plans of Shroomate. You can find the list of 10 Goals Here and see the other portions of further information regarding the long journey ahead.
This is my first hiking trip of any major kind that wasn’t with someone else aiding me and as excited as I am I know it will be very challenging in remaining focused and dedicated. I am spending the entire month of March building up my calorie intake. I have gone from 1500 a day to 3-4k per day. I am planning on operating at 5k calories per day while hiking the trail. Although I won’t be needing to hike for more than a 3-5 hours or 8 miles per day, there will be ample time to spend working on the goals, socializing, volunteering, fishing, and many more when not in trek mode.
We could use all the help we can get, so we created many options in which one and/or a business could donate to our project and our general cause,
Below you will find all the many ways that you can contribute. We have both a Wishlist for the gear needed for the trip and Sponsor Packs for businesses. You can still choose a Sponsor Pack and choose to remain anonymous and be an individual. The idea behind the Sponsor Packs are to try and engage with smaller companies looking to take part in a sponsorship without needing to spend thousands and in return get a little Thank You basket out of it.
